Parashat Vayelech - Seventh Aliyah
The aliyah closes Vayelech: the Torah scroll is placed beside the ark of the covenant as a witness, Moses speaks honestly about the rebelliousness of the people and gathers the elders and the officers, calls the heavens and the earth to witness, and speaks in the hearing of the whole assembly of Israel the words of the song to the very end.
Parashat Vayelech - Sixth Aliyah
The Torah explains why the song is needed: precisely out of the fullness in the land a drifting away may come, and the song will remain in the mouth of the generations as a witness. Moses writes it that same day and teaches it, Joshua receives further strengthening, and Moses completes the writing of the Torah in a book to the very end.
Parashat Vayelech - Fifth Aliyah
God tells Moses that his days are drawing to an end, and Moses and Joshua present themselves at the tent of meeting. God reveals the coming crisis, the turning to foreign gods, the breaking of the covenant and the hiding of the face, and commands that the song be written and taught to the children of Israel so that it will be a witness.
Parashat Vayelech - Fourth Aliyah
The Hakhel assembly: once every seven years, on Sukkot, the Torah is read in the hearing of all Israel, men, women, little ones and strangers. Hearing leads to learning, reverence and keeping, and the Torah stresses in particular the children who do not yet know, so that the bond with the Torah passes to the next generation.
Parashat Vayelech - Third Aliyah
The strengthening moves from all Israel to Joshua himself: Moses calls him before the eyes of the whole people and places on him the responsibility to bring Israel into the land, recalling that God goes before him. At the close Moses writes the Torah and gives it to the priests, the sons of Levi, and to the elders of Israel.

Moses goes on strengthening Israel for the entry into the land: what was done to Sihon and Og is the example of what will happen with the nations in the land. Alongside the promise, the responsibility to act according to the whole commandment is stressed, and the aliyah closes with be strong and courageous, because God goes with the people and will not fail them or forsake them.

The aliyah opens at a moment of leadership transition: Moses is a hundred and twenty years old and will not cross the Jordan, but the point of confidence passes to God who goes over before the people, and Joshua is presented as the one who continues the practical leadership.
